Google has apparently signed a deal with Freesat, which is the
UK’s free satellite TV service, to bring YouTube to Freesat in the form of
a dedicated YouTube appfor Freesat boxes.
Freesat is a joint venture between the BBC and ITV,
and the service offers around 60 free channels here in the UK, and
Google’s YouTube channel will land on Freesat in March of this year.
According to Freesat the YouTube app will be using
HTML 5 and is designed specifically for TVs, and users of Freesat will need
their ‘Freetime’ boxes to access the service here in the UK.
